Commercial License

Effective November 6, 2026

The short version

  • As between you and us, you own the sprites you generate. We claim no ownership of them.
  • Every plan, Free included, lets you use your sprites commercially. No watermark, no attribution.
  • That permission is permanent. It stays if you cancel, downgrade or stop using the service.
  • Exports from the free browser tools have no restrictions.
  • We don't guarantee an output is free of trademarks or likenesses. Check before you ship, and don't prompt for other people's characters.

This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.

This license explains what you may do with the sprites, sprite sheets, frames, tiles and other files (“Outputs”) that AI Sprite Maker generates for you. It is part of our Terms of Service.

Who owns the Outputs

As between you and AI Sprite Maker, you own your Outputs, and we assign to you any rights we might have in them. We do not claim ownership, and we will not sell or license your Outputs to anyone else.

Two caveats worth knowing:

  • Copyright in AI output varies by country. In some places, including the United States under current Copyright Office guidance, purely AI-generated material may not be protected by copyright unless a human contributed enough creative work. Editing, combining and arranging sprites in your game usually counts. We can give you every right we have; we can’t create rights the law doesn’t recognise.
  • Outputs are not exclusive. Another user can get a similar sprite from a similar prompt. If you need exclusivity, treat AI output as a starting point and edit it into something distinctive.

Commercial use on every plan

How the Output was madePersonal useCommercial use
Free plan (daily and sign-up credits)YesYes, permanently
Starter, Pro or Studio creditsYesYes, permanently, even after you cancel
Credit pack creditsYesYes, permanently
Free browser tools at /toolsYesYes. They only process your own files

Commercial use means anything you or your business earn from, directly or indirectly: games and apps you sell or monetise with ads or in-app purchases, crowdfunding rewards, client work, merchandise, paid asset packs that include your Outputs as part of a larger work, streams and videos that are monetised, and marketing for a commercial product.

Plans differ in how much you can make (credits), how large frames can be, how many jobs run at once, queue priority and how long we store your files. They do not differ in what you may do with the result. Outputs carry no watermark on any plan.

What you may do

With commercial rights you may use, modify, recolour, resize, animate, combine, publish, distribute and sell Outputs as part of your own games, apps and other products, in any medium, worldwide, with no royalty and no attribution required. You may let your team, publisher, contractors and players handle them as needed for your project.

What you may not do

  • Resell Outputs on their own as stock assets in a way that competes with the Service. For example, you may not upload raw generations in bulk to an asset store as “AI sprite pack #1”. Selling a game, or a curated, edited asset pack you made with the Outputs, is fine.
  • Claim that we, or any company or artist, endorse your product because you used our Outputs.
  • Use Outputs in ways that break the acceptable-use rules in the Terms of Service, for example to impersonate a real person or a brand.

Trademarks, characters and likenesses

We give no warranty that an Output is free of third-party trademarks, copyrighted characters or the likeness of real people. Generative models learn from large amounts of public imagery and can produce things that resemble existing work, especially if a prompt names a franchise, character, artist or celebrity.

You are responsible for checking Outputs before you publish them. To stay safe:

  • describe what you want (“a fox knight in blue armour”), not who (“Sonic as a knight”);
  • don’t prompt for real people, logos or brand names;
  • run a reverse image search on anything that will be the face of your game, such as the main character or the store capsule art.

Motion library, styles and presets

The motions, style presets and palettes in AI Sprite Maker are ours. You don’t need a separate license for them. The animation timing and poses they give your Outputs are covered by this license like the rest of the Output. You may not extract the motion library itself (for example the base mannequin frames) to build a competing service.

Content you upload

If you upload a reference image or video, you must have the right to use it. This license covers what we generate. It doesn’t give you rights in material that belongs to someone else, such as a character sheet you found online.

Publishing an Output to the gallery does not transfer ownership. You allow us to display it, with its prompt and settings, until you unpublish it. Other people may view it but get no license to use it unless you say so.

Changes

If we update this license, the version that applied when you generated an Output continues to apply to that Output. The changes apply to Outputs made after the new version’s effective date.
