Guide
4 directions or 8?
Four directions (up, down, left, right) are enough for grid-based RPGs and most top-down adventure games. Eight directions, adding the diagonals, make free movement in action games and isometric strategy feel smooth. Many games generate five unique views (down, down-diagonal, side, up-diagonal, up) and mirror them for the other side; that works whenever your character isn't asymmetrical, such as holding a sword in one specific hand.
Staying on-model from every angle
The hard part of turnarounds is consistency: the same armor, the same proportions and the same colors from the back as from the front. We generate every direction from your one character reference and lock the palette across all of them, then check that the height and foot position match so the character doesn't jump when it turns.
FAQ
Do I need all 8 directions?
Many games mirror the left-facing views to get the right-facing ones. Generate 5 unique directions and flip the rest if your art style allows it.
What does a turnaround cost?
8 credits for 4 directions and 14 credits for 8 directions. Animating a direction costs the normal animation price.
